CS250 Midterm 1 Review Guide
The midterm will be in-class on February 18
Topics
- Binary Arithmatic
- ASCII, you don't have to memorize the table
- Memory, latches, and bandwidth, not in much detail this time
- How circuits work (so if you had an example, you could figure out what it does!)
- Power (Units: watts, amps, volts, ohms) P = IV (power = current times voltage), V = IR (voltage = current times resistance)
- Parts of a Computer, don't have to memorize socket numbers.
- Gates and Logic
- Clocks and Memory, in principle
Notes
The test will be closed book, but you can bring up to 10 pages of notes if you like, both sides. Any page is fine, written any way you like. It can be both sides or one side, handwritten or typed, any font size. If you have legal-size paper around, that's ok too.
