Machine Learning Today

Use slides from security class for pictures sometimes.

How can a machine learn?
	Statistics, mostly
	Example with GNA, since we talked about it earlier

Actual methods:
	A lot of these are inspired by something or other
		Neural networks, bayes rule, etc.

Example of inspiration:
	Simulated annealing
		An optimization algorithm
		Real-world basis

Problem formulation:
	How about a simple one?  Classification
		Like the brain scan example
		Usually does come with a degree of confidence
		Generative AI doesn't seem to use this...
