CS492 Game Design Final Project: Making a Game
Due Thursday, December 9 in-class
Plan due November 4 at lab
Create a game that is arguably fun to play, using the class game engine or one of your own devising.
Requirements:
- Game idea complexity. The game must be elaborate enough to be a final-project sort of effort, but achievable using the class game engine by the end of the semester.
- Completeness. Full score here is "works well enough to play", not "free from any concievable bug". If we have fun playing it, you achieve full score in this category.
I'd like to set this up so that everybody can try the class games. Think a little about how to distribute your game to a few classroom computers. Probably it'll have directories of shaders, textures, and objects, so packing it into a single .zip archive might make this easy.
The plan milestone
Create a document describing your game, and turn it in at lab time. This should describe approximately what you'll need to do to make your game. Include a list of ways the class engine doesn't support your game, and some of them might make it into the class engine by the time you need them.
